About

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that you’ve already found a post or two that has added value to your life in some way.

I’m a 25 year old man living in Billings, Montana with my wife, Dixie. I work during the week as a process draftsman at the local oil refinery.  We host a podcast called “Know Normal People” where we interview normal people in our lives to prove that everyone has something interesting to share. During the summer, you’d find us in the mountains on weekends for camping and hiking. In the winter, we’ll keep the house cozy with pots of tea, books, movies, and games. My guilty pleasure is playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch.

Dixie and I value keeping an intentional, minimalist home, free of excess clutter and “just in case” items. This allows us to make room for the relationships and activities we value. I spend a good amount of my time reading anything from fiction, biographies, history, theology, self-improvement, philosophy, even owners manuals.

I’m using this blog to help me work out and grow my “yes it’s not perfect, post it anyway” muscle. I have historically used artificial barriers to entry as an excuse to postpone this kind of work, but I am done fighting that internal battle. I envision a life for myself where I’m not timid to launch a new creative project into the world, be it an art series, album, podcast, book, or online class. It starts here:

“Reading maketh a full man, conference a ready man, and writing an exact man.”

This is in exercise in added value. The act of thinking through writing will undoubtedly add value to my life. I sincerely hope that I can add value to your lives in the process.
